A little Matilda Jane Art Fair LOVE

We received our box of goodies from Matilda Jane yesterday afternoon. I had been listening for the UPS truck all morning and of course he stopped by when I went to pick up the girls. Grace was sitting on the throne when I got the package in and she demanded that I better hand it over RIGHT NOW. She loves her Matilda Jane, can you tell? And no, I didn't tell her I'll post this pic on my blog... he, he, he!

So after t-ball and dinner she tried on a few things. I'm in love with everything so far. Love, I tell you, is an understatement. I'm pretty much obsessed with these clothes. Maybe I need help :-D!!!

First up was the Gretta Loves Kayla skirt with the Daydream Believer tank, which you can't really see due to her hair, lol. It says "daydream believer or a homecoming queen?" on the front. Grace said she's definately a daydream believer :-).

Up next my favorite Dear 'Ol Ellie halter with Scroll ruffles. I was afraid the size 6 ruffles would be fitting like shorts on her, but they look adorable, if I say so myself.

She had to go pick some cherries :-).

Then back to the house to change.
Photobucket

This one surprised me!!! It is called Encore at the Ballet and is just yummy.
Photobucket

More cherry picking/eating :-).

And we gotta have a twirl picture, for sure!

Flowers and such...

I think this might be the reason why we have a never ending supply of dandelions on our lawn.
Photobucket

On the other hand, my wildflowers are rockin' too! You can kind of see them behind Erina.
Photobucket

Grace likes the pink ones :-). She was torturing one of them with "he loves me, he loves me not"... then she stopped and showed it to me... "look, I made a heart!"
Photobucket

Erina likes the orange ones... I guess they are good enough to eat, lol.

Please tell me....

Ok, I need your help... so please leave a comment even if you don't know me, okay? Here's the deal. I am totally confused when it comes to computers and how they work... call me challenged! I've been playing with the settings on my blog and love that I can finally put bigger pictures in. Now here's where you come in.

Please tell me if you can see the entire picture. It just dawned on me yesterday night that maybe this all depends on screen size? I see all my pictures fine, but maybe a smaller screen can't see them correctly??

1. big size
Photobucket

2. smaller size
Photobucket

Please compare the two pictures. Is #1 cut off on the side for you or fully visible?

THANK YOU so very much for your help :-)!

The fabric bug bit me!!

I've been browsing Etsy for fabrics all day... yeah, like I have nothing better to do, lol! But it's Sunday, I'm not supposed to work, right??

Here's what I have coming my way:

I'm excited!!

It all started with the Matilda Jane Online Art Fair, where I was lucky to snatch a cute halter for Grace with a scooter print apron. Erina really liked the scooters, but there was nothing available in her size. So we started fabric hunting and along the way found a print that she likes even better... scooters and Eiffel Towers!!! I'm planning to make an apron skirt for her :-), it'll be fun!

I know I'm goofy, I get excited over little things :-).

All better!

Grace was sick all week. She's our sick puppy this season for sure. This time she had a sinus infection and pink eye. Double whammy!!

But today was the first day that she felt like herself again. The sparkle in her eyes and the goofy grin that I love so much are BACK. So I had to take some pictures :-).

Oh, and a funny. When I was done taking pics, Grace said "Shoes!" I was like "What did you say?" - "Shoes!!!" - "What's wrong with your shoes?" - "Nothing silly, take a shoe picture!!"

Ha, how could I forget????

Inspiration

The lovely Denise from Matilda Jane Clothing has done it again. She inspired me to try new things... and I bet she has no idea what I'm talking about.

A couple weeks ago this big box landed on our door step.
Photobucket

Denise had told me she was sending some fabric scraps to my girls for their arts & crafts. Boy, was I surprised!!! I don't call this scraps!!
Photobucket

We petted the pretties for a few days, nobody wanted to cut into them though. I think I'm in love with fabric, seriously... there's something beautiful about it. All the possibilities waiting to happen.

Eventually Erina started an art project for Denise (which I NEED to mail out). And I decided to sew a dress. I found a tank top that was too short on Grace, grabbed a dress style I like and started cutting, ironing, pinning and sewing. Four long hours and many curse words later I had this in my hot little hands:

I'm actually kind of proud of myself... chuckle :-D!

And looky, it fits!!
Photobucket

So... I would like to send a big old THANK YOU to Denise. I hope you know how much we appreciate your generosity, your big giving heart & soul.

Is it ok....

to have only one of my peas in the header picture??? I like this fun beach picture of Grace and I wish Erina was standing next to her, lol. Oh well, for now it'll do. It is kinda big, he? I'll work on it... I WILL take the perfect picture someday :-D!!

I hope you all had a wonderful Mother's Day. We spent the day with family in Alameda. I'll post pics tomorrow!

I messed up...

I was trying to give my blog a make-over... now my header picture is all wrong... ugh. On the bright side, I figured out how to have more space for pictures and less for the sidebar, woohoo.

I'll try to fix it later, gotta jump in the shower before I pick up the kiddos.

Ok... so I figured out how to get the header to go all the way across. Now I just have to take a good picture... which I wanted to do tonight, but my peas threw a fit. Ah, what a start to the weekend.

Evening walk

We went for a little walk in the marsh after dinner tonight. It was a gorgeous evening and it felt great to be outside after the last few days of rain.

The girls love it out there... for some unknow reason they always feel like performing some sort of dance or song exactly in the same spot. Happens every time :D!
Photobucket

By the way... who gave my Erina permission to grow up?
Photobucket

I mean, look a her!!! She's a young lady! :-(
Photobucket

Thank goodness Grace is still my baby, lol.
Photobucket

She ran all the way home, my high energy kiddo.
Photobucket

And my best try at a sister picture
Photobucket

Now I better go to bed... the girls have State testing for the next two weeks and we CAN'T be late for school. Let's hope I'll hear the alarm!

Yellow Belt

Grace had her karate tests yesterday. It was a big one this time around... she was testing for the yellow belt. I knew she had no problem with all the moves, but I was nervous for the board breaking part. See, to receive the yellow belt, she HAD to break a board. And they never once practiced this either. It was a first... and it was a test... and there were lots of people watching.

If you know my Grace, you know she does NOT like to be the center of attention. She might be loud and talk your ears off in a small group, but if she has to do something all alone in front of a bigger group she freezes.

Which looks something like this
Photobucket

Ok, so she got called up front first. Sensei put a special glove on her and she was ready to go. She hit the board, nothing happend. Hit it again. Again. And again. Dang board wasn't breaking. I was getting worried. Grace looked shy and timid. But hey, I was proud she was standing there in front of an audience. Sensei made her sit down and let the other two kids go. They both broke the board without problems. I thought it was all done and over and she would just have to do it again next month. But I was wrong.

Sensei put the glove back on Grace and she had to try again:

Yay, she did it!!

Off comes the white belt
Photobucket

and on goes the yellow :-)
Photobucket

I'm a proud mamma. I sure am.

Ok, now some better outdoor pictures :-D.

With her broken board,

and the beautiful roses that she received from the Hietalas.
