Are you ready to put your feet up? I hope so, otherwise you might want to come back later... when you have time to relax :-).

I took over 200 pictures during this peaceful vacation in Maui and I had the hardest time choosing the ones to post here. So be prepared... lots of pics coming up :-D.

Here you can see our condo complex on the left... right across the street is a beach.
The place was small (one bedroom with a pull-out couch in the livingroom), but we managed. Brian and I spent a lot of time sitting on the balcony (ours was right behind the tree). That first night we took a walk on the beach right across the street from us. Brian and I both fell in love with the blue house in the background. Sadly it belongs to the State and we couldn't buy it :-D!!
Erina & Grace let out some energy that they had to keep in during the plane ride.
Ahhh, I love walks on the beach... especially to watch the sunset.
And the running girls again....

Erina in the hottub!

Grace did this a LOT... she's a water girl through and through.
But then her eyes got all red from the chlorine and we had to limit her underwater time ;-)
It's important to take a shower before & after the pool!

Time to snorkel! Brian rented the girls equipment for a week... I was a bit weary, I wasn't sure if they would like the salty water too much. It turns out that they both loved it. Brian says they are naturals and learned very quickly. Just to be safe, he took them out one at a time.
Here they are getting ready for the first try close to shore.
Brian likes posed pictures... so I take them :-D
Look, they are doing it!
And snorkeling makes hungry!
Chip girl
Erina couldn't get enough of the ocean. She's waiting for her turn to snorkel with daddy...
Can you spy Brian & Grace?
Taking a rest and talking about the fish they saw.
Then it was Erina's turn to go far out.
Are you ready?
Grace playing in the waves while waiting for another turn.
Look who's sneaking up on her... and yes, those floatation (did I spell that right?) devices gave them lots of wedgies :-D
Let's play in the sand! It's the Matterhorn!
Diving Day

While Brian was scuba diving, the girls and I took a walk to the craft fair. You wouldn't believe how many squashed up frogs or toads we saw... YUCK!

What a beauty of a beach... it's 2/3 of a mile long, 100 yards wide and has BIG waves. I loved looking at it, but never even went in the water. But Brian & my crazy Grace had to boogie board. I'm gonna have to watch her... she's a thrill seeker for sure.
Getting out there...
... and there she goes!
Crazy, he? Can you see the big smile on her face the whole ride?Yeah, I'm the coolest surfer girl!!! Then she had a bad wipe out... she was out of sight way too long for my taste, but when she emerged, she scrambled up, grinned at me and yelled at daddy to bring her out again. Luck wasn't on her side and she wiped out AGAIN. This time the board hit her on the head and she was DONE. Poor girl had sand coming out her nose!!

This turned out to be our favorite beach. It's great for snorkeling, the waves were managable for the girls and there was plenty of shade for us fair ladies to rest.
By now the girls were very confident snorkelers and Brian took them out together. They both hooked arms with him, so he wouldn't loose them :-D. I think that day they did two 40 minute sessions and they even saw a little octopus!
Can you see them?
Marching back to me... oh, so proud.
Relaxing on the boogie boards.
I like this picture of Erina, she looks so determined.
Maui Ocean Center

We needed a day out of the sun and this was the perfect place to learn about the ocean.
Mr. Creepy Eel I love to look at jellyfish... when they are in a tank, that is!
I forget what they were looking at... maybe starfish?
Then we had lunch at Buzz's Wharf at the Ma'alaea Bay Harbor. I highly recommend that place... it has charm and delicious sea food! Oh, and here's our little rental car:

We had one stormy day and decided to take a drive along north shore. We stopped in Paia for some touristy shopping and then went to Ho'okipa Beach to watch the surfers.
The girls got bored pretty soon and started playing hand games.
Pouty face... she would rather be in the ocean.
And I didn't get any good pictures of the surfers... they were too far out :-(.

I have lots more to share, but I'm getting tired and I feel a headache coming on. I can't believe how long it took me to upload all these pictures :-D.

So, let's finish up with some Icey Fishy pics. I'll tell you all about Icey Fishy and a crazy guy named Franz next time.
If you made it this far, thank you for looking at my neverending supply of pictures ;-).
